Why Attend?

It is no news that there are a lot of presentations in business today that fail to engage their audience. There are a lot of reasons for this, but the most prevalent one is the use of poorly designed visual aids. Even the most engaging public speaker's can be totally ruined by distracting and inconsistent images.

Why do presenters use these cripplingly poor visual aids that detract from their message?

  • They are too busy to create anything but bullet points.
  • Someone (who is too busy to create anything but bullet points) made their visual aids for them.
  • They don't know how to create good, consistent and supportive visual aids.
  • They feel that their skills as an orator can overcome any deficiencies that are projected on the screen behind them.
  • The list goes on . . .

Does this sound like you? Your colleague? Your boss?

So many of us were thrown into the melee that is presentation graphics and have gravitated toward the most common platform: Microsoft PowerPoint. PowerPoint is a fantastic tool for presentation graphics. But it allows for easy creation of poor graphics AND it is not the only tool. It is just the most commonly used.

If you, your colleague or your boss are PowerPoint victims, never fear! It only takes a little bit of guidance and hand-holding to make a world of difference. That is what the Greenline Emeritus IT Concierge is all about. Theo Economides answers your questions and guides you through the using of simple tools and concepts for creating compelling, eye-catching, supportive and consistent messages with your presentation media.

More than just PowerPoint

This workshop is not limited to PowerPoint, but includes tools for using audio, video clips, web sites and computer screen shots to create great presentations.

Who should attend?

The Audiovisual Media for Presentations Workshop is for anyone who wants to improve their presentation graphics. But especially for:

  • Small to medium marketing departments. Marketing departments of this size are usually very good at creating copy for marketing, but not so skilled at good presentation graphics. Instead they pay a lot of money to outsource this. Avoid the outsourcing fees and learn to create good and simple graphics by yourself.
  • Small to medium sales departments. Large sales departments have talent on-staff to create fantastic media presentations, but the smaller ones do not. You can create your own compelling presentations with a little help from the IT Concierge.
  • Consultants. Most consultant do presentations on a regular basis and do not have the resources to contract out their graphics development. Use the workshop to take your existing presentations to the next level.
  • Small to medium sized law firms. The IT Concierge has worked in the large law firm environment and knows how the legal field works. Stop outsourcing all of your presentation media work. You can do a lot of it yourself . . . with a little help.
  • Colleges and Universities. The IT Concierge worked twenty years in higher education and distance learning. He can guide you to creating presentations for class that will keep your students on the edge of their seats.

What people are saying about THEO ECONOMIDES and his training

"Theo is outstanding! After a 15 minute discussion Theo was able to shore up five tech issues I was having.” - Jerry Freund, President, Mid-American Printing Systems, Inc.

“Theo has a rare ability to explain complex technology in simple and understandable terms. He boils down the underlying technology and presents it in a way so that the audience has a sense of why it is important to them.” Wayne Pecena, Director of Engineering, Texas A&M University.

"Theo has a gift for being able to translate technical jargon and concepts into business relateable terms. One of the unique talents Theo brings to the table is his ability to engage everyone in the discussions. It is obvious he believes that combining a diversity of opinion brings great success to any project." Paula Graller, Telecom Manager, Large Law Firm, Chicago, IL.

"I attended a seminar he was hosting at the annual TTVN Convention. Theo was speaking to the attendees about data compression used in video conferencing. His knowledge of the subject matter and his teaching ability made it easy for novices and experts alike to understand the concept. His use of visual aids was also very helpful." Ken Nelson, Chief Engineer, KAMU-TV/FM/HD, Texas A&M University.
